Name: Mac Briley
Title: Director of CEPRA Production Systems

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and what it is you do.
A bit about me, I have been working in the Landscape industry since 1988. I am the former 2012 President of the Florida Turfgrass Association (FTGA) and served on its board of directors for 10 years. I have been Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) certified since 2013. I enjoy educating my fellow team members on sustainable landscape techniques. I believe that we should be good stewards to the environment and teach that to all of our team members.

I interact with all departments (Maintenance, Construction, Irrigation, Enhancement and Horticultural Services) within the CEPRA team. My job focus is to train our CEPRA team members on how to make the actions that they take on their workday bring a measurable value back to our clients. Throughout the day, I implement and train my fellow CEPRA employees on how to incorporate "LEAN" techniques into our workplace. To us, "LEAN" means learning how to reduce unnecessary activities while focusing our attention on taking care of our customers and their landscapes.

2. What does your role mean to you?
My role focuses on the education of my CEPRA team members. As the Director of CEPRA Production Systems, I help them to be the best version of themselves as horticultural professionals. I want my visits with every CEPRA employee to result in increasing our professionalism within the landscape industry.

3. How do you typically engage with CEPRA team members?
I have monthly video trainings for the company and hold monthly on-site training meetings with each branch. These meetings help the branch's crew leaders and production managers review efficiency and quality techniques. I also spend time reviewing individual properties with our team members. We break down the jobsite and figure out how to improve the quality of a client's landscape, and how we can do it more efficiently.

4. What are some of your goals for the next year?
One of my goals is to aid the company with navigating through today's challenging environment of rising labor costs and labor shortages, all while providing superior value and quality landscapes to our clients.

5. What makes CEPRA Landscape stand out from other landscape companies to you?
Our name says it all. CEPRA: Customers, Employee, Product, Reputation and Advancement. We are not about empty slogans and from top to bottom we really live our core values. We want to make a difference to the environment, our customers, and our people.

Conclusion

Thank you, Mac, for sitting down with us and giving us a look at your unique role! We look forward to continuing growing our culture of education and efficiency as we grow in our industry.
